Applications are now open for Global Youth Peace Conference 2018 taking place on January 13-14 in Kathmandu, Nepal. Organized by Youth Parliament Nepal. Global Youth Peace Conference 2018 aims to gather young leaders, innovators, peacemakers, youth activists and civil society pioneers from around the world in a single forum to share their experiences and knowledge on pertinent global issues. The theme of Global Youth Peace Conference 2018 is “Youth Involvement for Sustainable Peace & Equitable Development to Achieve SDGs”. Attendance at Global Youth Peace Conference 2018 is by application only.

Global Youth Peace Conference 2018 is more than a conference. It’s platform for young leaders from around the world  to share and  learn about the best practices through mutual learning on ideas and initiatives of advocacy tools to achieve sustainable development goals from the youth perspective and encourage youth to lobby them in their own respective governments.

The benefits of applying for Global Youth Peace Conference 2018 extend far beyond participating in the conference. It’s an opportunity to find collaborators, get connected with scholars, researchers and community leaders to share and explore the different ideas of inclusive policy-making, good governance, entrepreneurship development and SDGs.

The application includes the opportunity to apply for Global Youth Peace Conference 2018 and it includes:

  • Accommodation during the nights of the conference (shared room)
  • Participation fee that covers registration and all meals
  • Stationary and other educational materials including some publications
  • Internal travel within Kathmandu. 

Please note that your application fee will not cover your flight to Kathmandu and back. It does cover your pick-up from the nearest airport in Kathmandu (Tribhuvan International Airport) and your return back to the same airport. Your application fee will not cover your visa fee at the conference, insurance, or any other incidental expenses.  

Eligibility

Youth and Students of all level (age group 16-40); early career researchers, young professionals from all countries in the fields related to scholarly and scientific research (e.g. advocates, young innovators, NGO workers, etc.)

Applicants must be sixteen years of age and not older than 40 to attend Global Youth Peace Conference 2018.

Global Youth Peace Conference 2018 organizer Youth Parliament Nepal  wants to highly encourage those who have ideas for new projects and initiatives in addition to those who are already leading them.

The most important criteria is an interest in facilitation of a debate and development of resolutions on the best way forward to achieve SDGs and a commitment to taking action.

Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) opportunity

While attending the main conference in Kathmandu some participants also have an opportunity to attend Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) starting on Day 3 and concluding on Day 5.

What is RYLA?

Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) is a leadership program coordinated by Rotary District 3292 Nepal-Bhutan. Each year, thousands of young people participate in this program. Young people ages 18–30 are sponsored by Rotary Clubs to attend the event run by the club’s district committee. Participants are chosen for their leadership potential. Rotary Clubs and the Rotary District cover all expenses for the participants. The formats of the event vary from district to district, but commonly take the form of a seminar, camp, or workshop to discuss leadership skills and to learn those skills through practice. Rotary clubs and districts select participants and facilitate the event’s curriculum.

Fee

 Conference fee US$ 100 (for foreign delegates) and RS 5,000(for Nepali delegates) 

If you want to join International RYLA you have to pay $ 50 Extra (15-16-17, January)

Note: Fee will cover all your food, accommodation and local transportation during the conference.
